Honda opens new engine assembly facility in Lincoln

Gov. Robert Bentley was on hand Friday to help Honda celebrate the opening of its new state-of-the-art engine assembly facility.

The new facility will produce 1,500 V6 engines per day.

Bentley said he thinks the plant's success is because of the workers in the state. Honda opened its Lincoln plant in 2001. Since then, more than 3 million vehicles have rolled out of the facility.

The Honda plant in Lincoln employs over 4,000 people. The new facility will add 250 jobs.

“I think what it really shows is that companies have confidence in the workers of our state. They have confidence in them because our work force training is great and our work force ethic is second to none,” he said.
