Yuchai and Wartsila Switzerland Company jointly to build low-power marine diesel engines

In October 14th, Zhuhai Yuchai Marine Power company, as a subsidiary of Yuchai Group Co., Ltd. and Wartsila Switzerland company Meet in the beautiful coastal city-- Zhuhai, which has "100 Island City" reputation. In there, Zhuhai Yuchai and Wartsila was held two-stroke low-speed marine diesel engine production license contract signing ceremony. Zhuhai Yuchai Marine Power Co., Ltd., President Jiang Shihong and Wartsila president Martin Wernli were signed on the agreement.  

Zhuhai Mayor Zhong Shijian, Vice Mayor Chen Honghui, Yuchai Group president Gu Tangsheng ,Switzerland (Guangzhou) Consul General Werner E. Nievergelt, Finland (Guangzhou) Eero Suominen Consul General and other guests attended the contract signing ceremony. Ceremony presided by Yuchai Group Vice President Su Peng.

Yuchai 2-S project is the largest investment project outside Yuchai base. The project has two phases, with a total investment 2.5 billion yuan. The first phase of the project investment of 1 billion yuan, an area about 350 acres of industrial land, to build an annual output production capacity of 1.2 million horsepower, expected to put into operation in 2011.

Yuchai low-speed project’s Initial product what put into operation in the first phase is an specifications 6000-13000 horsepower electronically common rail controlled low-speed marine diesel engine, apply for 10,000 to 60,000 t-class transport ship. After the project completion, firstly in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian coast private shipbuilding market as the main target market, and then develop to the national private shipbuilding market and Vietnam and other Southeast Asian market, while supporting the market for the urban reserve power station. Zhuhai Yuchai will established the diesel engines research and development center in the future .will become the important environmental fuel-efficient diesel engine research and production base.

Martin Wernli President made a speech at the signing ceremony. He believes that Wartsila company and Zhuhai Yuchai‘s production agreement license signed, is based on long-term cooperation consideration. Wartsila authorized Zhuhai Yuchai production bore to 35-50cm high-power all-electric control low-speed marine diesel engine, the product will fully meet the future requirements of environmental protection and emission standards, which is in the shipbuilding industry in crisis, especially will play a lead role which promoting strong in compared with the tonnage small ship market recovery . Wartsila will create the most advanced technology to Yuchai high-power low-speed marine diesel engine in the future, he believe that prospects for bilateral cooperation will be very bright
